about me

I live in Dullstroom, South Africa, about 2 hours drive from Johannesburg. The Kruger Park and most of the great private lodges are within 2 hours of here. When I get the chance I travel, mostly throughout South Africa, and sometimes abroad, mainly the UK. Photography is my passion, but I have many others - whisky is one. Which is why many of the images featured in this site relate to whisky, Scotland and Ireland. I'm fortunate enough to be a co-owner of one of the best-stocked whisky bars in the world, Wild about Whisky, situated quite conveniently opposite my office at Auldstone House on Dullstroom's main road.

I started a serious interest in photography some years back on a trip to Scotland with my partner and my 2 kids; which is more or less when my passion for visiting whisky distilleries was born, much to my kids' displeasure. They're used to it now (the photography, not the whisky) and have mobile phones and pc games to occupy them when I wander off into the blue yonder, camera in hand. 

The camera came in handy with one of my other business interests, Dullstroom Reservations, a central reservations facility for many accommodation venues in our area. I photograph most of these venues using HDR techniques that give the images more punch.

I print some of my images on canvas, mounted and framed, or not. The images on this site, and more, are available for use in other media at a small fee. Please contact me should you need any images in high resolution, or if you feel the need to praise or criticise any of my work!
